As the holiday season approaches your family might be trying to think of a few ways to get into the spirit, and although Florida isn’t known for being a winter wonderland, it is still home to some of the best seasonal festivities.

From parades, to carnivals and Mickey, there are events that the whole family can take part in, and what better way to travel to the top seasonal destinations than in your RV rental. So pack up, bring the hot cocoa and prepare for Camp USA’s Road Trip: Holiday Edition.

First Stop: Orlando

What better way to feel the magic of the holidays, than traveling to the most magical destination on earth, Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. A perk of living in the great state of Florida is that Disney World is in your backyard. Each holiday that comes through, you can count on Disney to put on a spectacular display, which is why so many families and individuals make the parks a staple in their seasonal traditions.

Halloween is one of the greatest times around Disney. The park is completely decked out in fall decor, and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a huge event that allows children and adults to trick-or-treat throughout the park, meet their favorite Disney villains at the Hocus Pocus Spectacular and of course Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade. Although Halloween is always a fun way to kick off the holiday season, it is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party that is the event of the year.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Disney World, Orlando is guaranteed to get you into the holiday spirit. Like the Halloween Bash, Disney is completely transformed into a holiday haven, but for the winter season they pull out all the stops. Cinderella’s Castle is an Icy vision and Mickey’s Parade features gingerbread men, christmas tunes and of course an appearance by Santa himself. Throughout the day you can make your way down to the various shows, sip on complimentary hot cocoa and cookies, and witness the beautiful “snow” fall over Main Street in Magic Kingdom.

So, if you are looking for the ultimate seasonal event, look no further than Orlando and be sure to take advantage of the multitude of RV parks including Walt Disney World’s own Fort Wilderness.

Next Stop: Miami

Looking to travel a little further south for some holiday cheer? Next stop on our holiday excursion is the upbeat city of Miami. Now, when you think of Miami, holiday events don’t come to mind, but Santa’s Enchanted Forest is the world’s largest holiday themed park that is celebrating its 33rd year in operation.

At Santa’s Enchanted Forest in Miami, rides are in an abundance for kids, adults and thrill seekers, but it is the south’s largest Christmas Tree (90 ft.) & light show that really brings the event together. Along with your family, take a stroll through mistletoe lane, walk through life-sized christmas displays and take a seat for holiday shows that happen throughout the day.

Although Miami is known for it’s warm weather and spirited culture, it is home to one of Florida’s most well known holiday displays. So, be sure to add Miami to your holiday excursion list and stop your RV by the Homestead International Speedway, and get your Nascar fix along the way.
